Our Sustainability Achievements

At Wander Albania, we are committed to making travel a force for good by creating meaningful, small-group journeys that benefit people, culture, and nature. Over the past years, we have taken concrete steps to reduce our environmental impact, support local communities, and preserve Albania’s heritage.

Environmental Care

● Reduced single-use plastics by providing reusable bottles and promoting natural water sources.

● Partnered in reforestation projects, including Plant a Tree for Saranda, and supported tree planting in national parks.

● Organized path clean-ups with guests and staff, and trained guides to collect and carry waste during tours.

● Promoted low-impact activities such as hiking, canoeing, and silent boat tours to protect sensitive bird habitats.

Community Empowerment

● Work exclusively with local guides, family-run inns, guesthouses, farmers, and artisans.

● Supported youth through training in guiding, language skills, and outdoor activities in collaboration with NGOs.

● Helped families develop “open-house hospitality” along the Buna River, offering authentic cultural exchanges.

● Encouraged guests to buy local products, handcrafts, and food to directly benefit small businesses.

Cultural Preservation

● Integrated folk music, dance, and culinary traditions into tours, helping younger generations revive and share their heritage.

● Offered cooking classes and workshops on traditional food and beverages such as gliko and raki.

We are also actively preparing for the Travelife Partner Award, further strengthening our commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in sustainable tourism.

Through these actions, we ensure that every journey with Wander Albania not only enriches our guests’ experiences but also strengthens the environment, culture, and communities of Albania.
